a little about w.d.

My fascination with type started as a very young child. I see beauty in the form of each letter, in creating letters with our hands, manipulating the forms to express an emotion, and the power they have to communicate a message. Typography is brilliant in its ability to change the world in its many forms and facets.

Although a Hoosier at heart, I transplanted to San Diego where I am challenged and grow with my students as a Typography and Packaging Design instructor with SDSU's Graphic Design Department. You can find a sampling of these talented students’ work on my Instagram page, linked below; it is a blessing to be a part of their journey!

Study of 4 excerpts from CS Lewis’ Screwtape Letters, + featuring my loved one’s thoughts during times of difficult spiritual struggle. Lewis’ masterpiece explores the invisible battle of evil vs God and humans. This book illustrates how real the war is — we all experience it every day, though often unaware— but all too real none-the-less.
